Do you know Jesus?

Perhaps you have not yet taken the first step of your journey of faith because you've never received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior.  Maybe you've heard about Him, and you even believe the things you've heard are true.  You believe He is the Son of God, that He lived a perfect life and died on the cross to pay the price for the sin of all mankind.  You believe He rose again and lives today.  You believe what He said in John 14:6  "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me."
Perhaps you believe all those things, but you've never opened the door of your own heart to Him.  You've never said, "Jesus, I receive You as my personal Savior and Lord.  I give You my life today!"
If so, you're not alone.  Many people, (even good, churchgoing folks) are in that condition right now.  They know about Jesus, but they do not have a living relationship with Him.  Despite their church attendance and even the fact that they know what the Bible says, their sins are still intact.  They have not put their trust in the One who can save them.  When it comes to making a personal commitment to Jesus, they did not know what to do, or they shrink back from making the most important decision of their lives.
I can only think of one reason why someone would be hesitant to make Jesus their Lord - why they would be afraid to give their life to Him.  They don't know how good He is!
They are afraid that if they give themselves to Him, He might deprive them of the good things they want and need.  Fear makes them draw back because they are not really sure God has their best interests at heart.  They do not understand the simple fact that God is a good God.
If that is your situation, I pray that the Holy Spirit will provide the missing element of trust give you the courage you need to step out in faith and surrender your life to Him.  Make Jesus the Lord of your life by faith right now, and receive the goodness of God that is available today by praying the following prayer from your heart.

Salvation Prayer

If you do not know JESUS as your Savior and Lord, simply pray the following prayer, in faith and Jesus will be your Lord!

Heavenly Father, I come to you in the Name of Jesus.   Your Word says, “Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”  And “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”  (Acts 2:21; Romans 10:9).  You said my salvation would be the result fo Your Holy Spirit giving me new birth by coming to live in me (John 3:5-6; Romans 8:9-11).

I take you at Your Word.  I confess that Jesus is Lord.  And I believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead.  Thank you for coming into my heart, for giving me Your Holy Spirit as You have promised, and for being Lord over my life.

To Receive the Infilling of the Holy Spirit:

"Heavenly Father, I am your child, for I believe in my heart that Jesus has been raised from the dead, and I have confessed Him as my Savior.
Jesus said, "How much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those that ask Him."  I ask You now in the name of Jesus to fill me with the Holy Spirit.  I step into the fullness and power that I desire in the name of Jesus.  I confess that I am a Spirit-filled Christian.  As I yield my vocal organs, I expect to speak in tongues, for the Spirit gives me utterance in the name of Jesus."
